The obverse design of the gold Eagle coin features Lady Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch and an olive branch. The reverse features a male eagle carrying an olive branch, protecting a nest containing a female eagle and her hatchlings. This design was changed in 2021 to a new ‘Type II’ design is by artist Jennie Norris and, sculpted by the US Mint’s Renata Gordon.

Please note, this will be a great looking coin from a year of our choosing. Years from 1986 to 1991 will have Roman Numerals denoting the date. From 1992, dates appearing on coins in the normal date format.
