The reverse of the 2023 UK King Charles III Britannia 1oz Gold Coin includes additional security features making it the most visually secure coin in the world. The Britannia 1oz Gold Coin includes a laser engraved wave pattern and latent image marker that changes from Britannia’s famous trident to a padlock. The micro-text that borders the design reads ‘DECUS ET TUTAMEN’, which translates to ‘An Ornament and a Safeguard’. Britannia’s shield has been specially highlighted with tincture lines. Details of the coin’s 2023 year-date, weight and fineness also feature on the reverse side.
The obverse of the coin bears the New First coinage portrait of King Charles III designed by sculptor Martin Jennings, along with the monetary denomination of 100 pounds.
Each coin weighs 1 Troy Ounce and is 999.9 Fine Gold.
